Tree Planting Events
Our annual tree planting events has been held every year since 2020. We plant from 500-550 trees each year. Apart from planting trees at the event, We also do different game like tug-of-war and sack races. We do this event to help the environment and get the community together to plant trees and have fun in nature.
Sewa Helpline
Sewa Helpline is a helpline that assists the local community in several ways. Here are the different ways we can help the community.
Pick up/ Drop off – This service will be limited to a
few spots within the town. This is to ensure the
safety and security of volunteers.
Alice Springs Library Registration – This service is
limited to non English speakers.
MVR related support – Provide guidance and
knowledge base to help them prepare for the driving
license test. This does not include providing driving
lessons.
Immigration support – Very high-level assistance to
help eligible candidates to meet qualified lawyers
locally. This doesn’t mean we are providing any
legal services to anyone.
Food Assistance – In case of emergency food
services will be provided to people in need. For e.g.,
if someone is admitted to hospital and doesn’t have
food of their choice.
Moral and emotional support – Provide guidance and
support for community members who are struggling
with emotional, mental, and psychological
challenges. This is not about providing all the
service ourselves. We may provide initial support by
listening to issues but beyond this point it will be
about guidance and making sure they get support
from professional services that are run by the support
of government agencies.
Citizenship Ceremony
Gurmat Parchar Sewa Society also volunteers at community events. A recent one was the citizenship ceremony in Alice Springs. We volunteered because we are really dedicated to helping our local community with whatever is needed.
